Haas Corp. announced Monday that it has acquired the Total Chemical
Management business of Radian International LLC to form the world’s
largest independent chemical management services provider.
Officials said the deal unites businesses with complementary
strengths and customer bases. Haas has focused on aiding the automotive
industry with chemical usage and waste reduction, while TCM has
specialized in providing procurement, logistics and health and safety
services to aerospace and defense clients.
“It's the fit of our two companies that really
underscores our excitement,” said Thad Fortin, CEO of Haas
TCM. “The synergies are incredible and the combined resources
give us state-of-the-art tools and the scale to set new standards
in the rapidly growing CMS business.”
Both companies have boasted that their lack of ties
to particular brands ensures that their customers receive unbiased
advice about selection of lubricants and other products.
The acquisition roughly doubles the size of Haas,
creating a company with 250 employees and annual revenues of $100
million. Haas will continue to be based in West Chester, Pa. TCM
was based in Austin, Texas.
