— As
printed on 10/14/02 of the European Chemical News
Pennsylvania, US-based chemical management services (CMS)
specialist Haas has acquired the Total Chemical Management business
of Radian International. The two businesses will trade as Haas TCM.
Haas claims the new company will be the world’s foremost independent
CMS company.
CMS is a growing area driven by manufacturers in the
automotive, electronics and aerospace sectors seeking to outsource
all their plants’ chemical needs. CMS providers can offer
a single point of contact for chemicals sourcing and logistics,
waste management and safety, health and environments issues.
Haas has built up experience serving the automotive
sector, while Radian has focused on aerospace and defense. The two
operations are thus complementary, said Haas TCM chief executive
officer, Thad Fortin. ‘The synergies are incredible and our
combined resources to give us tools and scale to set new standards
in the rapidly growing CMS business.’
Haas TCM has 250 employees and revenues of $100m/year.
It operates in North & South America and Asia - including China
and recently Korea.
The company is currently in talks with manufacturers
in the UK and Germany for contracts in Europe.
