WEST CHESTER, PA, May 1, 2000 - Haas Corporation,
a global leader in the chemical management services field recently
announced that it’s Chinese subsidiary, Haas FineChem (Shanghai)
Co., has been named Supplier of the Year, 1999, at General Motors’
Shanghai Assembly Plant Paint Shop. The plant, a joint venture of
GM and the Shanghai Automotive Industry Company (SAIC) which includes
vehicle, engine, and transmission assembly operations, produces
the Buick Centry for the Chinese market.
Closer to home, Haas’ Mexican subsidiary, Haas
de Mexico, has been invited by General Motors de Mexico (GMM) to
sit on it’s newly created Supplier Council. The Supplier Council’s
mission is to Develop and promote strong and long-term relationships
with key strategic suppliers. The Council will strive to create
a mature world-class supplier base fully aligned to GMM business
plans. Current plans call for Haas Corporation to meet with the
Council quarterly to share business plans and define common strategies
to achieve GMM objectives.
