General Summary:

Responsible for oversight and operation of chemical management programs at United Technologies (UTC) Facilities in the Connecticut area. Works full time at UTC sites to plan and review all process improvements associated with chemical usage to include waste savings, chemical substitution, improved business processes, and chemical usage reduction. Provides technical and managerial assistance to the current Haas TCM team in CT (7 on site personnel). Assure that all calculated savings are properly reported to UTC and in turn to the Account Manager for the UTC chemical management program. Participate, as required by client, in all applicable, on site chemical management team meetings to include Green Factory, Pollution Prevention, Fluid Management, and Environmental Health and Safety. Responsible to be the single point of contact for all issues related to chemical use at the site, to include coordination with chemical distributors and suppliers. Works as part of a team (including Purchasing professionals, Environmental professionals, and Information Technology professionals) committed to delivering chemical management services to UTC.

Individual Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains a positive image for Haas with our customers, while demonstrating high standards of business ethics and integrity.
  2. Ensures optimum performance of the Chemical Management Program by recommending and implementing actions to improve productivity, increase effectiveness and reduce costs.
  3. Acts within the scope of authority and remains consistent with Haas objectives, guidelines, policies and practices.
  4. Consistently demonstrates the ability of Haas to provide value to the customer.
  5. Develops solutions arising from emergency situations.
  6. Determines appropriate inventory and service levels, plans or approves corrective action or process changes as required.
  7. Responds to customer requests for information as required.
  8. Ensures all reports/required forms are submitted correctly and in a timely manner to both internal and external customers.
  9. Participates in management and customer meetings (as requested/required)
  10. Promote and ensure effective communication with Haas corporate personnel and with customer personnel.
  11. Represents Operations on a system wide basis with the continual development of Best Practices and Knowledge Sharing Initiatives.
  12. Works with Account Manager to achieve program metrics to include, cost savings, on time delivery, and customer satisfaction survey scores.

Management Responsibilities:

  1. Helps manage customer relationships.
  2. Keeps abreast of customer needs and practices affecting the Chemical Management Program and communicates pertinent information to the staff.
  3. Coordinates activities related to projects requested by the customer or identified by Haas and works with management to assign resources as appropriate.
  4. Promotes and ensures effective communication and teamwork among Haas TCM and customers.
  5. Promotes and assists in development of Tier II suppliers and ensures they are meeting the needs of Haas and our customer.
  6. Help ensure all activities performed comply with all federal, state, client and local regulations including OSHA, DOT, IATA and RCRA requirements.
  7. Work effectively across the Supply Chain organization in a cost effective manner and with customers having varying standards and objectives Identify and manage work process improvement projects and cost reduction efforts at Hubs
  8. Coordinate with Supply Chain organization and customers in setting annual goals.
  9. Ensure oversight of other on site employees and all they achieve or fail to achieve.

Education and Experience:

  1. A four year technical or business degree
  2. Five or more years of industrial experience
  3. Supervisory experience preferred
