Forecast Analyst/Business Analyst (Austin or
Denver)
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for
a Forecast Analyst/Business Analyst who will support chemical management
operations throughout the continental USA and in several foreign countries.
This person will have broad responsibility to analyze inventory levels and prepare
monthly use forecasts and will serve a key role in identifying and developing
key performance indicators. This will include gathering and analyzing production
data and using this information to advise operational units on optimizing order
quantities, minimizing obsolete inventory, and identifying opportunities to
improve delivery performance. Ad hoc reporting using advanced query techniques
for end users will be required as well as development and maintenance of dashboards.
A general understanding of basic warehouse practices including receiving, picking,
cycle counting, automation techniques, 5S practices, capacity planning and space
management is highly desirable.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have strong SQL development
skills (both Oracle and Microsoft Access), experience with programming languages
(Visual Basic, JAVA), an understanding of relational database architecture,
and a background in statistical analysis. Experience in forecasting, supply
chain management and materials management are a plus as is the ability to move
information technology to a web-based platform. This person must be able to
extract, organize and report operation data within a complex business intelligence
framework. Proven leadership skills, excellent written and oral communications
skills, a collaborative management style, and an ability to deal effectively
with customers and subcontractors are required.
The Forecast Analyst/Business Analyst will have a
B.S. degree in Information Technology, Business or similar field of study with
5+ years experience in business intelligence, forecasting, and logistics management.
Certification as CPIM by APICS is desired.
This position will require periodic travel to out-of-state
locations via airplane and/or ground transportation. Over-night travel is estimated
at 30% of normal work hours.
This is a self-starter position with minimum direction
from senior management. Once annual goals are established, the Forecast Analyst/Business
Analyst is free to act in setting priorities and deploying resources within
prescribed standards.
