Job Title: Purchasing Senior Buyer
Reports To: VP, Global Procurement
Job Location: West Chester, PA
Supervises: Assigned Buying Team
General Summary
The Senior Buyer is responsible to supervise the day to day purchasing operations of an assigned buying group in the procurement of products and services to meet customer requirements. The Senior Buyer is also responsible to work with Customers, Suppliers and HGI staff to affect the best value to our customers, balancing price, lead time logistics and on-time delivery of products.
Individual Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive image for Haas with our customers, while demonstrating high standards of business ethics and integrity.
- Administer Customer Contract Requirements specific to Procurement.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and customer stakeholders to identify and execute continuous cost and performance improvement strategies.
- Create Purchase Orders according to Corporate Guidelines and Policy
- Execute/Manage Product Category Purchase Strategies
- Manage Cost Savings/Cost Containment efforts for assigned team
- Review, monitor & expedite Open PO’s to ensure on-time deliveries
- Ensure timely responses to requests for information from Manager/Hub/Client
- i.e. product non-conformances, material expedite requests, etc.
- Ensure supplier compliance with site and client requirements.
- Monitor Open PO report identify possible expedite issues
- Ensure internal Quality Management System compliance
- Identify/Execute training opportunities for buyers.
Management Responsibilities:
- Train/mentor all assigned buyers to be proficient on the HGI IT platform (tcmIS).
- Manage/Report buyer activity and metrics.
- Ensure buyer Quality Management System compliance through training and weekly internal review.
- Train/Develop Buyer Category Expertise.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Direct Personnel Management/Leadership Experience in a Procurement environment required.
- Minimum 5-years of Aerospace Industry, Chemical Industry or related Purchasing and/or Category Management experience.

Certifications:
- CPM, APICS or CPIM preferred
