Job Title: Distribution Center Manager
Reports To: General Manager DCs
Job Location: McDonough, GA
Supervises: Distribution Center Staff
General Summary
The Distribution Center Manager has overall responsibility for managing all Distribution Center (DC) activities including but not limited to the processes for receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing and shipping of materials.
Individual Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment within the DC
- Ensure that DC operations comply with federal, state and local regulations for managing, storing and shipping of chemicals.
- Ensure effective communications and team work between Haas Group International (HGI) employees.
Management Responsibilities:
- Manage the DC staff to efficiently complete the daily activities of receiving, inspecting, storing picking, packing and shipping materials to HGI customers.
- Hire and train staff on all safety, regulatory and standard work processes including EHS requirements.
- Manage Inventory levels to meet on-time delivery requirements while minimizing inventory costs.
- Manage expenses and budgets for DC operations including invoice approval responsibilities.
- Conduct annual performance reviews of DC staff including salary administration.
- Meet or exceed established performance goals for safety, on-time delivery, acceptance rate and cycle counting.
- Manage customer issues for sites served by the DC.
- Identify and manage work process improvement projects and cost reduction efforts at the DC.
- As applicable, manage the 3PL and other subcontractors that perform services for HGI
Education and Experience
- Degree Preferred.
- 5 years combined experience in distribution, inventory warehouse management or related field required.
- Experience with Military specifications and DoD policies and procedures is preferred to support the POLChem (Petroleum, Oils, Lubricants, and Chemicals) contract.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 and AS 9100 preferred
Skills
- Proven leadership, excellent written and oral communication skills, technical competence.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and computer applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word)
